2207 motors are the default choice for 5-inch FPV quads: a stator 22mm wide and 7mm tall that spins 5-inch props with plenty of torque for freestyle and racing. This page gathers the 2207 motors in our 5" Motors range, including a few 2207.5 variants. Two things decide the right one: KV, which must match your battery voltage, and build quality, which decides how well the motor survives crashes. Every listing here has a 5mm shaft and the standard 16x16mm mount.
How to choose a 2207 motor
Match KV to your battery first. On 6S, 5-inch builds run roughly 1700–2100KV: around 1750–1850KV for smooth freestyle and cinematic flying, and 1950–2100KV for snappier freestyle and racing. On 4S, look for windings of 2400–2750KV. Many models here are offered in both, so pick the variant for the pack you fly.
- KV: sets top speed and current draw at a given voltage.
- Stator shape: 2207 leans towards top-end speed, the wider 2306 towards low-end torque, and 2207.5 adds a little height for extra power.
- Build: bell design, shaft material and bearing quality decide how a motor holds up to crashes and how long it stays smooth.
- Weight: 31–35g per motor is typical in this class, so four motors can differ by 15g or more.

Compatibility
2207 motors are sized for 5-inch props, including the popular 5.1-inch tri-blades, on 5-inch frames. The 16x16mm pattern takes M3 screws; check screw length against your arm thickness so a screw never touches the stator windings.
On 6S, a 45–55A 4-in-1 ESC comfortably drives four 2207 motors, with 60A and above giving extra margin for heavier builds. Buy all four motors of the same model and KV so the quad stays balanced and the tune stays predictable.
Pair 6S windings with a 6S LiPo of around 1050–1500mAh, or 4S windings with a 4S pack of similar weight.
Frequently asked questions
- What KV 2207 motor should I use on 6S?
- For a 5-inch quad on 6S, 1700–2000KV is the usual range: around 1750–1850KV for smooth freestyle, and 1950KV and up for racing. Higher-KV motors on 6S run hot and draw more current.
- Can 2207 motors run 7-inch props?
- They are sized for 5-inch props and some 5.5–6-inch ones. A 7-inch long-range quad needs larger, lower-KV motors such as 2806.5 or 2807 to cruise efficiently.
- Is 2207 or 2306 better for freestyle?
- Both work well on 5-inch and the difference in the air is small. Choose on KV, weight and build quality first.
