20×20 flight controllers use the mini mounting pattern — four M2 holes 20mm apart — and go into 3 to 4-inch quads, toothpicks with separate ESCs, and 5-inch frames built around mini stacks. This page collects every 20×20 flight controller in our Flight Controllers range. Pick the processor and firmware first (F4 and F7 for Betaflight, H7 for INAV, ArduPilot or Betaflight with everything enabled), then count UARTs against your receiver, GPS and video system, and check the input voltage range.
How to choose a 20×20 flight controller
The board decides how much you can plug in. A digital air unit, an ELRS receiver, a GPS and ESC telemetry each want a UART, and a mini board has fewer of them than a 30×30 one, so count before you buy.
- Processor: F405 for standard quads; F722 and F745 for more UARTs and headroom; H743 for INAV or ArduPilot, or for running Betaflight's full filter set.
- Gyro: MPU6000, ICM42688 and BMI270 are all fine on current firmware; MPU6000 is the classic low-noise choice.
- Input voltage: many mini boards are 2–6S; whoop-class F411 boards may be 1–4S. Check before wiring a 6S pack.
- Extras: some boards integrate a VTX, ELRS receiver or a Bluetooth module, saving weight on small builds.

Compatibility
20×20 boards fit mini frames directly and 30.5×30.5 frames through the adapter plates most frames include. Pair them with a 20×20 4-in-1 ESC of the same maker where you can — the ribbon-cable pinouts differ between brands, and a mismatched cable means soldering eight wires instead of plugging one in.
Every board here accepts DShot ESC protocols and has a current-sensor input; only some carry a barometer, which INAV and ArduPilot builds need for altitude hold.
Frequently asked questions
- Will a 20×20 flight controller fit a 30×30 frame?
- Yes, with a 20×20-to-30.5 adapter plate; most 5-inch frames include one. The reverse is not possible without cutting the frame.
- F4, F7 or H7 for a mini flight controller?
- F405 for a plain Betaflight quad; F722 or F745 when you need more UARTs for GPS, a digital air unit and telemetry; H743 for INAV or ArduPilot, or for the heaviest Betaflight configurations.
- How many UARTs do I need?
- One each for the receiver, the video system (DJI, Walksnail or HDZero), GPS and ESC telemetry, so four for a full build. Boards with three UARTs need a softserial port or a shared function.
