A 5-inch frame is the backbone of the most popular FPV quad class, built around 5-inch props and a wheelbase of roughly 210–240mm. This page pulls together every 5-inch frame kit in our Frames range, from true-X freestyle and deadcat cinematic frames to low, light race frames, plus a few replacement arms and parts. When choosing, look first at camera and air-unit mounting (19mm or 20mm analog cameras, or a DJI O4 or O3 unit), then at arm thickness, which decides how much abuse the frame takes.
How to choose a 5-inch frame
Decide your flying style first, then your video system.
- Geometry: true-X and squashed-X frames suit freestyle; deadcat (DC) frames spread the front arms so props stay out of the camera's view, which suits cinematic flying; race frames are narrow and light, often with 14mm nano-camera mounts.
- Camera and video: most freestyle frames take 19mm and 20mm cameras, and many kits come in O4 or O3 versions with a dedicated air-unit mount.
- Arms: thick carbon arms survive freestyle crashes, and replaceable arms mean one broken arm doesn't retire the whole frame.
- Stack mounting: check the frame takes the stack you plan to use, 30.5x30.5 or 20x20.
- Weight: bare frames here run from about 80g for race frames to around 180g for heavy-duty freestyle frames.

Compatibility
A 5-inch frame pairs with 2207 or 2306 motors on 16x16mm mounts, 5-inch or 5.1-inch props, and a 30.5x30.5 or 20x20 FC and ESC stack. Most 5-inch builds fly 6S LiPo packs of 1050–1500mAh, or 4S packs on lower-voltage builds.
Check each frame's maximum prop size before choosing props, as tight race frames may only clear props up to 5.1 inches.

- What's the difference between a deadcat and a true-X frame?
- A true-X frame spaces all four arms evenly, giving balanced handling for freestyle. A deadcat frame spreads the front arms wider so the props stay out of the camera's view, which is useful for cinematic footage.
- Will a DJI O4 air unit fit any 5-inch frame?
- Not always. Many frames come in dedicated O4 or O3 versions with the right camera cage and mounting holes, so choose the version made for your video system.
- What wheelbase is a 5-inch frame?
