The Pixhawk 2.4.8 is a 32-bit open-source autopilot flight controller engineered for autonomous multirotors, fixed-wing aircraft, VTOLs, and ground rovers. Powered by an STM32F427 primary processor paired with a dedicated STM32F100 failsafe coprocessor, it provides redundant processing capability and deterministic real-time control for commercial surveying, agricultural spraying, and mapping platforms.
Dual-processor architecture with an STM32F427 main MCU and an independent STM32F100 failsafe coprocessor for backup control.
Full native compatibility with both ArduPilot (ArduCopter, ArduPlane, ArduRover) and PX4 autopilot software suites.
Integrated sensor array including an InvenSense MPU6000 3-axis gyro/accelerometer and an MS5611 high-precision barometer.
Comprehensive peripheral expansion with 5 UARTs, dual CAN bus interfaces, I2C, SPI, and dedicated ADC voltage/current sensing ports.
Built-in MicroSD card slot for high-rate Blackbox data logging and post-flight mission analysis.
Main Processor: STM32F427 (32-bit ARM Cortex-M4 with FPU, 168 MHz)
Coprocessor: STM32F100 (32-bit ARM Cortex-M0)
Gyro / Accelerometer: InvenSense MPU6000
Barometer: Measurement Specialties MS5611
Input Voltage: 4.8 V - 5.4 V (via Power Module port)
Supported Firmware: ArduPilot, PX4
Receiver Compatibility: PPM, S.BUS, Spektrum DSM / DSM2 / DSM-X
Serial Ports: 5x UART (Telem 1, Telem 2, GPS, Serial 4, Serial 5)
Dimensions: 81.5 x 50 x 15.5 mm
Weight: 38 g (with enclosure)
Power the board via a regulated 5V power module connected to the PM port for accurate battery telemetry. To ensure optimal autonomous navigation and altitude hold, isolate the Pixhawk from motor vibrations using anti-vibration damping foam or a dedicated mounting plate.
