The Radiomaster R88 V2 is a compact 2.4 GHz PWM/SBUS receiver built for fixed-wing aircraft, traditional RC models, and any drone that needs individual servo outputs rather than a single serial bus. It suits pilots running Radiomaster or any multi-protocol radio that supports FrSky D8, FrSky D16, or Futaba S-FHSS, making it a practical crossover option for builders migrating between radio ecosystems.
Outputs 8 independent PWM channels simultaneously alongside a 9-channel SBUS output (8 control channels + 1 RSSI channel), so it works with both flight controllers and direct servo setups in the same installation.
Supports FrSky D8, D16, and Futaba S-FHSS protocols — bind it to any Radiomaster TX running multi-protocol firmware or a dedicated FrSky/Futaba transmitter without an external module.
Rated input voltage of 4.5–8.4 V (early units are labelled 4.5–6 V but are confirmed capable of 8.4 V), covering 2S direct power without a separate regulator.
Advertised control range exceeds 1 km with the supplied 15 cm antenna, suited to park flyers, proximity FPV wings, and light trainer builds.
Compact 40 × 26 × 16 mm footprint at 11 g — fits easily into wing bays and small fuselages where a smaller micro receiver would still require an SBUS-to-PWM decoder.
Built-in failsafe protection with RSSI on channel 9 for real-time signal monitoring via your OSD or flight controller.
Protocol: FrSky D8, FrSky D16, Futaba S-FHSS
Frequency: 2.4 GHz
PWM channels: 8
SBUS channels: 9 (8 control + 1 RSSI)
Input voltage: 4.5–8.4 V
Antenna length: 15 cm
Range: 1 km+
Dimensions: 40 × 26 × 16 mm
Weight: 11 g
The R88 V2 is best suited to fixed-wing builds, gliders, and multi-rotor platforms that use a traditional PWM-based flight controller or direct ESC/servo wiring. If your build runs Betaflight or ArduPilot on a modern FC, connect the SBUS output to a free UART and keep the PWM pins free for auxiliary functions or a second craft. Not intended for ELRS-only setups — pair it with a Radiomaster TX12, TX16S, or any multi-protocol module that covers D8/D16.
