Product details
The CubePilot ADS-B carrier board is the updated base board for Cube autopilots such as the Cube Orange, with a uAvionix 1090MHz ADS-B IN receiver and antenna built in. The aircraft then detects nearby ADS-B OUT equipped aircraft and shows their position, altitude, speed and ID on the ground station, and ArduPilot's avoidance logic can act on that traffic.
Key features
- uAvionix 1090MHz ADS-B IN receiver wired to the Cube's internal Serial 5, so no external receiver or antenna needs mounting
- Traffic displays in Mission Planner and QGroundControl; supported by ArduPilot and PX4
- ArduPilot avoidance can warn, climb or descend, move aside, return to launch or hover on a projected near miss
- Same footprint and external connections as the original carrier board, so it swaps into existing airframes
- Intel Edison bay and debug USB removed, CAN ports correctly labelled
Specifications
- ADS-B receiver: uAvionix, 1090MHz, receive only
- Antenna: Built in
- Receiver port: Internal Serial 5
- Firmware: ArduPilot, PX4
- Ground stations: Mission Planner, QGroundControl
For ArduPilot, set ADSB_ENABLE = 1, SERIAL5_PROTOCOL = 1 and SERIAL5_BAUD = 57, then SR1_ADSB or SR2_ADSB = 2 to stream traffic over Telem 1 or Telem 2. AVD_ENABLE = 1 turns on alerts and avoidance, with AVD_F_ACTION choosing the response. The board only receives; it does not broadcast your own aircraft's position.
