Product details

Breakout GPS module built on the u-blox NEO-M8L receiver, with UART and SPI outputs for flight controllers, GPS trackers and Arduino, Raspberry Pi or ESP32 projects. It runs from a 3.3–5 V supply and supports 2D and 3D fixes with cold, warm and hot start.

Key features

  • Multi-constellation reception: GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and BeiDou
  • L1-band receiver (1575.42 MHz) with accuracy down to about 2.5 m in open sky
  • UART and SPI interfaces for flight controllers and microcontrollers
  • Low draw of around 22 mA in normal operation
  • Rated from -40 °C to +85 °C for outdoor and vehicle installs

Specifications

  • GNSS chip: u-blox NEO-M8L
  • Frequency: 1575.42 MHz (L1)
  • Constellations: GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou
  • Accuracy: up to 2.5 m (depends on conditions)
  • Interfaces: UART, SPI
  • Supply voltage: 3.3–5 V
  • Current draw: 22 mA (normal operation)
  • Operating temperature: -40 °C to +85 °C
  • Fix modes: 2D, 3D; cold, warm and hot start

The NEO-M8L is the dead-reckoning member of the u-blox M8 family, aimed at vehicle tracking; on a drone it works as a standard UART GPS. No compass is listed, so add a separate magnetometer if your flight controller needs heading for position hold or return-to-home.
