The NEO-6M GPS module is a cost-effective, straightforward positioning board widely used in custom drone builds, fixed-wing aircraft and DIY microcontroller projects. Operating on the classic u-blox 6 engine, it provides reliable basic GPS tracking for ArduPilot and INAV setups needing straightforward coordinate logging or return-to-home functionality.
Integrated EEPROM with a backup battery to save configuration data and enable rapid hot starts.
Included active ceramic patch antenna for strong satellite signal acquisition.
Standard UART communication interface for easy integration with flight controllers, Arduino or STM32 platforms.
Convenient 3V to 5V input voltage range allows direct power from standard 5V BECs.
LED signal indicator provides immediate visual feedback of satellite lock status.
GNSS chipset: u-blox NEO-6M
Input voltage: 3V to 5V
Default baud rate: 9600 bps
Interface: UART
Antenna dimensions: 25 x 25 mm
Supported firmware: INAV, ArduPilot, Betaflight
Please note that this module relies solely on the GPS constellation and does not include an onboard compass (magnetometer). It is best suited for fixed-wing builds or experimental Arduino projects where heading can be calculated via ground speed rather than magnetic alignment.
