Product details

The Gemfan Vortex 10x6 is a two-blade, 10-inch propeller with a 6-inch pitch for electric fixed-wing aircraft, supplied as a pair. One inch more pitch than a 10x5 trades a little static thrust for extra cruise speed, making it a sensible all-round choice for sport planes and trainers built around a 10-inch prop. Both props in the pack are the standard-rotation E version, listed as CCW.

Key features

  • Tough construction: glass-fibre-reinforced nylon resists bending and impact while keeping the blade profile true under load.
  • CFD-optimised blades: slim tips reduce tip vortices and noise, and a frosted leading edge helps limit airflow separation at high RPM.
  • Secure mounting: the textured hub face grips the prop adapter so the prop does not creep under the nut.
  • Dynamically balanced: balanced at the factory to keep motor vibration low.
  • Fits common shafts: 6.35 mm (1/4 in) bore, with six adapter rings for 3, 3.17, 4, 5, 6 and 8 mm.

Specifications

  • Diameter: 10 in
  • Pitch: 6 in
  • Blades: 2
  • Rotation: CCW (E, standard)
  • Material: Glass-fibre-reinforced nylon
  • Centre hole: 6.35 mm (1/4 in)
  • Adapter rings: 3, 3.17, 4, 5, 6 and 8 mm
  • Colour: Grey
  • Pack: 2 propellers

The E version suits a conventional front-mounted (tractor) motor; a pusher layout or the opposite motor of a counter-rotating twin needs the reverse-rotation R version. After any prop change, check current draw with a wattmeter on the bench so the motor and ESC stay within their ratings.
