Product details
Encoder board that reads up to eight PWM servo outputs from a conventional RC receiver and combines them into one PPM signal, for autopilots that accept PPM such as Pixhawk and APM. The receiver needs no modification, and the link to the flight controller shrinks to a single signal wire plus power and ground.
Key features
- ATmega328P processor with interrupt-driven timing for stable, accurate channel output
- Firmware pre-set for 8 input channels; the design follows the Paparazzi PPM encoder
- Powered from the flight controller through the PPM lead with jumper JP1 fitted, the default with no soldering needed
- Remove JP1 when the receiver or servos have their own supply, so the autopilot's 5 V regulator is not back-fed
- Input and output cables included
Specifications
- Processor: ATmega328P
- Inputs: 8 PWM channels
- Output: 1 × PPM sum
- Dimensions: 28 × 19 × 5 mm
- Weight: 10.5 g with cables
- In the box: Encoder, input cable, output cable
Changing the defaults, such as inverting the PPM signal or editing the failsafe values, means reflashing the board with an AVR ISP programmer. Receivers with SBUS, CRSF or iBUS output connect to modern flight controllers directly and do not need an encoder.
