Product details

The SparkFun GPS-16481 is a u-blox ZED-F9P RTK breakout with an SMA antenna connector. It can work as a centimetre-level rover or as a base station for drones, ground robots and survey rigs. This is the SMA version; the GPS-15136 board uses a U.FL connector.

Key features

  • Dual-band L1C/A and L2C reception across GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and BeiDou
  • RTK fixes down to 0.010 m horizontal, with updates at up to 20 Hz
  • Works as a rover or as a base station
  • USB-C, UART, I2C, SPI and two Qwiic ports to connect a microcontroller, companion computer or autopilot
  • SMA jack takes a full-size survey or helical antenna with a secure screw-on fit

Specifications

  • GNSS module: u-blox ZED-F9P
  • Bands: L1C/A, L2C
  • RTK accuracy: 0.010 m horizontal
  • Standalone accuracy: 2.5 m horizontal
  • Navigation rate: up to 20 Hz RTK, 25 Hz PVT and raw
  • Time to first fix: 25 s cold, 2 s hot
  • Supply: 3.3 V / 5 V, 68-130 mA
  • Logic level: 3.3 V
  • Antenna connector: SMA
  • Board size: 43.5 x 43.2 mm
  • Weight: 6.8 g

The board has no antenna or compass. Add a dual-band L1/L2 antenna and an RTCM correction source, such as a second F9P base, NTRIP or a telemetry link, to get an RTK fix.
