Product details

The GenX RTK F9P Tough is a u-blox ZED-F9P multi-band RTK GNSS receiver with a QMC5883P compass, built in India in a rugged aluminium case. Use it as the rover on a drone or other autonomous vehicle, or as a fixed base station, for centimetre-level positioning with RTK correction data and an external antenna.

Key features

  • Multi-band front end tracks GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and BeiDou simultaneously, with QZSS and SBAS also configurable
  • 1 cm + 1 ppm horizontal accuracy in RTK; 0.5 m CEP with DGNSS and 2.0 m CEP standalone
  • Outputs UBX, NMEA and RTCM, so it integrates with modern flight controllers and works as a correction source in base mode
  • USB plus two serial ports, and an MMCX antenna port
  • 20 g module in a tough aluminium housing

Specifications

  • GNSS receiver: u-blox ZED-F9P
  • Compass: QMC5883P
  • Bands: GPS L1C/A, L2C; GLONASS G1, G2; Galileo E1, E5b; BeiDou B1I, B2I
  • Sensitivity: -163 dBm tracking, -147 dBm reacquisition
  • Time to first fix: cold 35 s or less, warm 20 s, hot 1 s
  • Accuracy: 2.0 m CEP autonomous, 0.5 m CEP DGNSS, 1 cm + 1 ppm RTK (horizontal)
  • Protocols: UBX, NMEA, RTCM
  • Interfaces: USB, 2 x serial
  • Antenna connector: MMCX
  • Weight: 20 g module only; 24 g with a 15 cm MMCX-to-SMA lead; 41 g with helical antenna, lead and serial cable
  • Role: rover (aircraft) or base

RTK needs a correction source: a second F9P set up as a base, or an NTRIP service. Use an L1/L2 multi-band antenna on each receiver to get the full benefit of the dual-band fix.
