Product details
A development board built around the u-blox NEO-7M GPS receiver for Arduino, STM32 and 8051 microcontroller projects, DIY trackers and rovers. It finds satellites on its onboard ceramic antenna in open sky, and a soldered SMA jack takes an external antenna when you need stronger reception.
Key features
- NMEA standard output on a TTL serial header with VCC, GND, TXD, RXD and PPS pins
- Micro USB port for configuring and testing the module straight from a PC
- Built-in flash keeps settings through power loss, with no external EEPROM needed
- Signal indicator LED shows when the receiver is getting GPS data
- Runs from a 3.3–5 V supply
Specifications
- GPS receiver: u-blox NEO-7M
- Protocol: NMEA
- Interfaces: TTL UART header, Micro USB
- Supply voltage: 3.3–5 V
- Antenna: onboard ceramic, plus SMA jack for an external antenna
The serial pins are TTL level: connect the module's TXD to your microcontroller's RX and RXD to its TX, and never wire them straight to an RS-232 port. For a drone flight controller, a dedicated GPS module with a compass and a matching flight-controller lead is usually the simpler fit.
