Product details
A thumbnail-size step-down (buck) regulator built on the MP1584EN chip, for running low-voltage electronics from a drone, rover or robot battery: microcontrollers such as Arduino, sensors, LED strips and other light loads. Choose the 5V or 12V version; each arrives set to its output and keeps an onboard trim potentiometer for adjustment.
Key features
- 4.5–28 V input: the 5V version runs from 2S to 6S LiPo, while the 12V version needs a 4S or higher supply to stay in regulation
- Up to 3 A peak and about 2 A sustained output; add heatsinking or airflow for loads near 3 A
- 1.5 MHz switching and up to 92% efficiency keep heat and board size down
- Over-temperature, over-current and short-circuit protection
- Output adjustable from 0.8 V to 20 V with the onboard potentiometer
Specifications
- Regulator chip: MP1584EN
- Input voltage: 4.5–28 V DC
- Output voltage: 5 V or 12 V preset, adjustable 0.8–20 V

Check the output with a multimeter before connecting your load, especially after touching the trim pot. On 6S the 25.2 V full-charge voltage sits close to the 28 V input limit, so feed the module from a point protected by a low-ESR capacitor rather than straight off noisy ESC leads.
