Gemfan Vortex 17x10 Glass Fiber Nylon Electric Propeller (1 pc)

The Gemfan Vortex 17x10 is a two-blade, 17-inch propeller with a 10-inch pitch for large electric fixed-wing aircraft and UAVs, sold as a single prop. This is the reverse-rotation R version, listed as CW: it is made for pusher layouts and for the second motor of a counter-rotating twin, where it cancels the torque of a standard prop on the other side.

Key features

• Tough construction: glass-fibre-reinforced nylon resists bending and impact while keeping the blade profile true under load.
• CFD-optimised blades: slim tips reduce tip vortices and noise, and a frosted leading edge helps limit airflow separation at high RPM.
• Secure mounting: the textured hub face grips the prop adapter so the prop does not creep under the nut.
• Dynamically balanced: balanced at the factory to keep motor vibration low.
• Fits common shafts: 6.35 mm (1/4 in) bore, with six adapter rings for 3, 3.17, 4, 5, 6 and 8 mm.

A conventional front-mounted (tractor) motor takes the standard-rotation E version instead. Props of this size store a lot of energy, so bench-check current draw with a wattmeter, make sure the chosen ring fits the motor's prop adapter snugly, and keep clear of the prop arc whenever the battery is connected.
