Product details
This WiFi telemetry module links a Pixhawk-class flight controller running ArduPilot or PX4 to a phone, tablet or laptop over standard 2.4 GHz WiFi. The device's built-in WiFi acts as the ground-side radio, so there is no second telemetry module to buy or power — handy for bench setup, parameter tuning and close-range test flights.
Key features
- Connects to a Pixhawk TELEM port and carries MAVLink 1 or MAVLink 2
- 802.11 b/g/n WiFi with WPA/WPA2 security
- Works with Mission Planner over UDP port 14550; QGroundControl detects it automatically
- External antenna with a usable range of about 200 m
- Small and very light, easy to tuck into a frame
Specifications
- Band: 2.4 GHz WiFi
- Standard: IEEE 802.11 b/g/n
- Security: WPA/WPA2
- Range: about 200 m
- Protocol: MAVLink 1 / MAVLink 2
- Autopilot support: ArduPilot, PX4
- Default network: SSID ArduPilot, password ardupilot
ArduPilot setup: plug the module into TELEM1, set SERIAL1_PROTOCOL to 2 (MAVLink2) or 1 (MAVLink1) and SERIAL1_BAUD to 921 (921600 baud), then reboot — on another port, change the number in the parameter names to match. Join the module's network from your device, then connect Mission Planner over UDP or open QGroundControl. For missions beyond a couple of hundred metres, use a long-range telemetry radio instead.
