Product details
A directional, circularly polarised triple-feed patch antenna for 5.8GHz FPV goggles, video receivers and ground stations. Pointed at the flying area it adds range over a stock omni, and its axial ratio stays good off-centre as well as straight ahead, so the picture holds up when the quad drifts away from the patch's boresight. It suits long-range and fixed-site flying where you know roughly where the aircraft will be.
Key features
- 9.4 dBi gain with a 660 MHz bandwidth (5.47-6.13 GHz), covering raceband and the usual A, B, E and F channels
- Axial ratio below 1.3, with good circular polarisation off-axis, not only head-on
- Better radiation efficiency than typical FR4-board patches, which are lossy at 5.8GHz
- Well matched: S11 below -20 dB, VSWR below 1.22 at the centre frequency
- Choice of SMA or RP-SMA connector
Specifications
- Centre frequency: 5.8 GHz
- Bandwidth: 660 MHz (5.47-6.13 GHz)

SMA and RP-SMA look alike but do not mate, so check the jack on your receiver or goggles before choosing. On a diversity receiver, run this patch on one input and an omni on the other to keep close-in coverage when the quad is overhead or behind you.
