How Much Does It Cost to Build an FPV Drone in India? Real Parts Prices, 2026
A 5″ freestyle FPV drone costs about ₹30,000 to build at the budget end and ₹48,000 for a typical analog build, plus ₹21,000–₹68,000 of radio, goggles, charger and tools you buy once — so a complete first setup is ₹50,000 to ₹1,15,000, and a DJI O4 build with DJI goggles ₹1,50,000 and up. The numbers come from our in-stock prices in October 2026, part by part, with the cheaper routes in.

The figures below are the in-stock price bands in our catalogue in October 2026 — the cheapest tenth, the median and the dearest tenth of each part — so the totals are what an order actually comes to, GST included. What drives the cost
Three decisions set most of the bill: the video system (analog vs DJI O4 vs Walksnail), the goggles, and how many batteries you want per session. The drone itself — frame, motors, stack — is the smaller, more predictable half. A first-time builder also needs the ground kit once: radio, goggles, charger and tools, roughly the price of the drone again.
5″ freestyle quad, analog video, 6S
| Part | Budget | Typical | Premium |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5″ frame | ₹3,500 | ₹6,900 | ₹9,800 |
| 4 × 2207 / 2306 motors | ₹5,600 | ₹9,200 | ₹13,200 |
| FC + 4-in-1 ESC stack | ₹7,600 | ₹10,400 | ₹16,100 |
| Analog camera | ₹1,400 | ₹3,400 | ₹7,400 |
| Analog VTX | ₹3,400 | ₹6,000 | ₹10,500 |
| ELRS receiver | ₹1,700 | ₹3,000 | ₹4,900 |
| Props, 3 sets | ₹700 | ₹800 | ₹1,100 |
| 2 × 6S 1300–1500 mAh | ₹5,000 | ₹7,200 | ₹10,000 |
| Antennas, straps, capacitor, screws | ₹1,000 | ₹1,500 | ₹2,500 |
| Drone, ready to bind | ≈ ₹30,000 | ≈ ₹48,000 | ≈ ₹75,000 |
Swap the camera and VTX for a DJI O4 or Walksnail air unit (₹12,000 to ₹24,000 typical, ₹80,000 for the top O4 Pro bundles) and the drone lands between ₹40,000 and ₹60,000 for a typical build. The same parts on 4S cost the same; only the batteries change.
Ground kit, bought once
| Item | Budget | Typical | Premium |
|---|---|---|---|
| Radio (ELRS) | ₹6,200 | ₹21,000 | ₹77,000 |
| Goggles | ₹10,000 (analog box goggles) | ₹35,000 | ₹74,000 (DJI / HDZero / Walksnail) |
| Charger | ₹2,300 | ₹7,200 | ₹50,000 (dual 1 kW) |
| Soldering iron, tools | ₹2,500 | ₹5,000 | ₹10,000 |
| Ground kit | ≈ ₹21,000 | ≈ ₹68,000 | ≈ ₹2,10,000 |
So a complete first 5″ analog setup — drone, radio, goggles, charger, tools — is about ₹50,000 at the budget end and ₹1,15,000 for a typical build; a DJI O4 build with DJI goggles is ₹1,50,000 and up.
Cheaper starting points
- Bind-and-fly tiny whoop. A complete 65–85 mm whoop from the tiny whoops shelf runs ₹16,000–₹36,000 (₹22,000 typical) with receiver, VTX and batteries. Add a ₹6,000–₹8,000 ELRS radio and ₹10,000 analog goggles and you are flying indoors for about ₹40,000, with nothing to solder. Building the same whoop from parts — frame ₹600–₹750, AIO board ₹7,000–₹10,000, four motors ₹6,000–₹7,000, camera and props ₹2,500, 1S batteries and charger ₹3,500 — costs about the same and teaches you more.
- 3.5″ or 4″ quad. Motors ₹1,600–₹2,700 each and 20×20 stacks keep the drone under ₹30,000 with analog video, and it carries an HD air unit later.
- F450 DIY quad. Not FPV, but the cheapest way to learn to build: 2212 motors from ₹570, 30 A ESCs, a 10″ prop set and an APM or Pixhawk. The F450 guide prices it live.
“Can I build an FPV drone for ₹8,000?”
Not one that flies FPV. ₹8,000 is roughly one radio, or one stack, or two 6S packs. The floor for a working FPV setup including radio and goggles is a whoop-based kit at about ₹35,000–₹40,000; the floor for a 5″ quad is ₹50,000 with analog video. Where that money is tight, spend it on the stack, the charger and a good 1S or 6S pack, and save on the frame, camera and goggles — a frame is carbon plates, a goggle can be upgraded later, but an under-rated ESC or a bad charger ends the hobby with a fire.
Where the money goes on bigger builds
A 7″ long-range quad costs ₹55,000–₹80,000 for the drone (motors ₹1,900–₹5,600 each, frames ₹2,400–₹14,500, GPS, Li-ion pack) before a 900 MHz radio link. Cinelifters and X-class start near ₹1,00,000. Agricultural sprayers are priced per arm — see the agriculture guide.
Every number above moves with stock and exchange rates; the kit builder is the live version, and how to build an FPV drone is the assembly order once the parts arrive.
