A stack is a matched flight controller and 4-in-1 ESC that bolt together on the same mounting pattern, and 30.5x30.5, usually called 30x30, is the full-size pattern used on 5-inch and larger quads. This page lists every 30x30 stack in our FC + ESC Stacks range. Two numbers matter most: the ESC's continuous current rating per motor, which must cover your motors and props, and the voltage range, which must cover your battery. Then choose the flight controller processor and firmware you want to fly.
How to choose a 30x30 stack
- ESC current: ratings are continuous, per motor. For 5-inch 6S builds on 2207 motors, 45–55A is plenty; 60–70A stacks give margin for 6–7-inch props and heavier freestyle or cinelifter builds.
- Voltage: most stacks here are rated 2–6S or 3–6S, while the DAKEFPV F405 70A, Elarion F405 and T-Motor F7 SE with V70A ESC handle 8S.
- ESC firmware: BLHeli_32 and AM32 are 32-bit; 8-bit BLHeli_S ESCs flashed with Bluejay are the value option and still support bidirectional DShot for RPM filtering.
- Flight controller: F405 for straightforward freestyle builds, F722 or F745 for more UARTs, and H743 for the most headroom and ArduPilot or INAV support.

Compatibility
30.5x30.5 means the four M3 mounting holes sit 30.5mm apart, centre to centre. Most 5-inch and larger frames have this pattern; 20x20 and 25.5x25.5 are the smaller patterns used on 3-inch builds and whoops.
The FC and ESC in a matched stack connect with a plug-in harness, so there is no re-pinning. Soft-mount the flight controller on rubber grommets to isolate the gyro from vibration, and pair the stack with 2207 or 2306 motors on 5-inch, or 2806.5 to 2807 motors on 7-inch long-range builds.
Frequently asked questions
- Is 30x30 the same as 30.5x30.5?
- Yes. The holes are 30.5mm apart, and "30x30" is the everyday shorthand. It is a different pattern from 20x20 and 25.5x25.5, which suit smaller builds.
- How many amps does my ESC need?
- Check your motor's peak current on your prop and battery, then add margin. For a typical 5-inch 6S quad, a 45–55A 4-in-1 ESC is enough; go 60–70A for 7-inch props or 8S.
- Can I mix a flight controller and ESC from different brands?
- Yes, as long as both share the mounting pattern and you adapt the wiring, since connector pinouts differ between brands. A matched stack avoids that step.
