Product details

The SG90 is the standard 9g micro servo for small RC aircraft, camera tilt and payload-release mechanisms, and Arduino or robotics projects. Choose the 180° positional version for control surfaces and latches, or the 360° continuous-rotation version for small drive wheels and winches.

Key features

  • 180° version moves to a commanded position, about 90° either side of centre.
  • 360° version has no position control: it holds still at a 1.5ms pulse, and longer or shorter pulses turn it one way or the other.
  • Plastic gear train keeps the weight to about 9g for tight installs.
  • 3-wire lead with a JR/Futaba-compatible plug: orange signal, red positive, brown ground.
  • Supplied with one-, two- and four-point horns and mounting screws.

Specifications

  • Weight: about 9g
  • Operating voltage: 3.0–7.2V
  • Speed: 0.12s/60° at 4.8V; 0.10s/60° at 6.6V (360° version)
  • Stall torque (360° version): 1.2kg-cm at 4.8V
  • Dead band: 7µs (180°), 5µs (360°)
  • Operating temperature: −30 to 60°C
  • Size: approx. 32 × 30 × 12mm

Power it from a 5V BEC or the receiver rail rather than straight from a flight battery, and avoid stalling it against an end stop, as the plastic gears strip under sustained load. For flight-critical surfaces on heavier models, step up to a metal-gear servo.
