MG996R Metal Gear High Torque Servo

The MG996R is a standard-size digital servo with metal gears and up to 11 kg·cm of stall torque, an upgrade of the MG995 with revised gearing and motor for tighter centring and a smaller dead band. The 180° version suits control surfaces, payload releases and robot joints; the 360° continuous-rotation version drives wheels and winches.

Running current is 500–900 mA at 6 V, so feed it from a dedicated BEC rather than a receiver or flight controller 5 V pad. The 360° version trades angle control for continuous speed and direction control.
