Product details

The Holybro AS1318C is a digital differential-pressure airspeed sensor for fixed-wing and VTOL aircraft flown on Pixhawk-class autopilots with ArduPilot or PX4. Its digital I2C output avoids the noise from long cables and the ratiometric offsets of older analogue sensors, so the autopilot gets steady airspeed readings in fixed-wing flight modes. Pure multirotors do not need one.

Key features

  • Reads up to 360 km/h (about 100 m/s) on a 1 psi range, with 0.84 Pa resolution.

  • Temperature compensated: it measures air temperature so true airspeed can be calculated from indicated airspeed using the flight controller's static pressure sensor, and it sits away from the heat of the processing electronics.

  • Low offset, high resolution 14-bit pressure output.

  • Simple installation: GH 4-pin cable to the autopilot and M3 / 6-32 mounting holes.

  • Two kit options: with the PT60 or the PT40 pitot tube.

Specifications

  • Sensor: AS1318C-001PD5AI-DSD

  • Interface: I2C, address 0x28

  • Standard / burst range: 1 psi / 10 psi

  • Max airspeed: 360 km/h

  • Total error band: ±1% FSS

  • Pressure / temperature resolution: 14-bit / 11-bit

  • Update time: 0.5 ms

  • Supply: 4.75–5.25 V, about 3 mA

  • Operating temperature: -20 to 85 °C (compensated 0 to 60 °C)

  • Sensor module: 17 × 23 × 13 mm, 4.1 g

  • Firmware: ArduPilot, PX4

Fit the pitot tube where it sees clean airflow, clear of the propeller wash, and run the airspeed calibration in your ground station before the first flight.
