Product details
A small time-of-flight rangefinder from Holybro built around ST's VL53L1X sensor, for low-altitude height measurement, landing and obstacle sensing on drones and robots. It measures up to 4 m at up to 50 Hz and talks I2C, and its GH 4-pin lead suits the I2C port on Pixhawk-style flight controllers.
Key features
- 940 nm Class 1 laser emitter with a SPAD receiving array and integrated lens
- Typical 27° field of view, with a programmable region of interest to narrow it or select a zone
- Runs from 3.3–5 V and communicates over I2C at up to 400 kHz
- Pin-to-pin compatible with the earlier VL53L0X
- Comes with a 200 mm GH 4-pin cable fitted and a TPU protective case

ArduPilot supports the VL53L1X as an I2C rangefinder, set up the same way as the VL53L0X, and PX4 has a driver for it too. Range shortens on dark surfaces and in strong ambient light, so expect less than 4 m outdoors in daylight.
