Product details
A basic 40 W pencil-type soldering iron that plugs straight into 220 V mains. It is a sensible first iron for tinning wires, soldering servo and JST leads, and small repairs on receivers, LEDs and buzzers.
Key features
- Fixed 40 W element: metal heating core with no temperature control, so the tip settles at one working heat.
- Pencil grip: slim heat-resistant plastic handle for fine work close to components.
- Replaceable fine-point tip: swap a worn or pitted tip instead of replacing the whole iron.
- Light and portable: 93 g with a mains cord of roughly 1.2 m.

For XT60 or XT90 plugs, 12–14 AWG battery leads and large ESC pads, a fixed 40 W iron loses heat too quickly to make clean joints. Use a temperature-controlled station of 60 W or more for those, and keep this iron for signal wiring and light jobs. Rest it in a stand with a damp sponge or brass wool, as an unregulated tip runs hot when left idle.
