Gemfan Vortex 7x8 Glass Fiber Nylon Fixed-Wing Propeller (2CW+2CCW)

The Gemfan Vortex 7x8 is a two-blade electric propeller from Gemfan's Vortex fixed-wing series, made from glass-fibre-reinforced nylon. The set includes two standard-rotation 7x8E and two reverse-rotation 7x8R props (2 CW + 2 CCW), ready for a single-motor plane with spares or a counter-rotating twin.

Key features

• CFD-optimised airfoil: blade profile shaped for efficient thrust.

• Ultra-thin blade tips: reduce noise and tip-vortex loss.

• Matte leading-edge finish: intended for cleaner airflow at high speed.

• Anti-slip hub: grips the prop adapter so the prop stays put under load.

• Individually tested dynamic balance: smooth running with less vibration passed into the airframe.

Specifications

• Diameter: 7 in (177.8 mm)

• Pitch: 8 in (203.2 mm)

• Blades: 2

• Hub diameter: 12.8 mm

• Hub thickness: 8.5 mm

With pitch slightly above the diameter, the 7x8 trades a little static thrust for more speed than a square 7x7, a sensible all-round size for sport flying. It loads the motor more than a lower-pitch 7-inch prop, so check full-throttle current with a wattmeter before the first flight.
