BetaFPV SMO 4K Camera

Developed in partnership with Insta360, the BetaFPV SMO 4K is an ultra-lightweight action camera engineered specifically for FPV drones. Stripped of heavy screens and internal batteries, it provides high-quality 4K wide-angle footage for micro cinewhoops, sub-250g builds, and long-range explorers that cannot carry a full-sized action camera.

The camera mounts natively to standard FPV action camera bases or custom TPU prints. To control recording via a radio transmitter switch, wire the SMO 4K control pin to an available UART on your flight controller and configure the camera control protocol within Betaflight.

Firmware note: do not install Insta360's v1.3.8 firmware (released November 2021) on this camera. It is not compatible with the SMO 4K and cannot be rolled back.
