Capacitors & Filters

A low-ESR capacitor across the ESC power pads soaks up the voltage spikes that motors create when braking, which protects electronics and clears noise from the video feed. Choose a voltage rating with a margin over a fully charged pack (50V for 6S is standard) and a capacitance of around 470µF or more for 5-inch and larger. TVS filters add spike clamping, and an anti-spark filter stops the arc when plugging in high-voltage packs. We stock Rubycon, Flywoo and iFlight. For more power boards, see PDBs & Power Modules.
