Product details
A wired video link for drones and ground robots: the air unit sends the onboard camera feed down an optical fibre to the ground unit instead of over a radio channel. Fibre links are used where radio video struggles, such as crowded 5.8 GHz bands or heavy interference, and on tethered or spooled-fibre platforms.
Key features
- Matched pair: an air unit for the vehicle and a ground unit for the pilot or control station
- Video travels as light through the fibre, so it uses no radio frequency and does not compete with other video transmitters
- Suits UAV and ground-vehicle projects that need a video link unaffected by RF noise
Plan the fibre spool and its payout path on the airframe from the start, as the fibre must run freely behind the vehicle.
